Maintenance and Grounds

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with building occupants and administrators to complete projects, work orders, and preventative maintenance efficiently.
• Inspects facilities, systems, and components (building interior/exterior, electrical systems, HVAC systems, life safety systems, etc.) to identify necessary repairs.
• Installs and repairs system and facility components (door and window assemblies, ceiling and floor materials, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, etc.) to maintain safe, comfortable, and efficiently operating conditions.
• Maintains tools and equipment to ensure availability in safe operating condition.
• Repairs various items, systems, and components (electrical switches, fixtures, motors, plumbing, drainage systems, HVAC, alarms, etc.) to ensure availability and safe working condition.
• Requests equipment and supplies to maintain inventory and ensure availability of required items.
• Requests quotations to provide cost information, purchasing, and securing of items.
• Responds to emergency situations to resolve immediate safety concerns.
• Performs winter maintenance: salting and plowing district parking lots.
• Handles lawn mower engine repair, snow plowing and removal, salting, lawn and landscape maintenance, deliveries, and athletic field maintenance and preparation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to operate a lawn mower and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and bend.
• Ability to take written and oral direction.
• Willingness to work overtime.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Chauffeur License preferred.
