Utility (Auditor) (D2-Shift, Nights)

About the Role

To be skilled on a variety of jobs on the line, department, or facility in order to assist the supervisor or lead when needed. This includes tasks such as breaking down large boxes, inspecting product, sanitation duties, and raking raw meat into freezers.

Responsibilities

• Performs various jobs on the line: adapts quickly to new positions and situations in all areas, ensuring performance at established production levels.
• Assists in training new employees on basic dress requirements, safety aspects, job assignments, and sanitation procedures and policies.
• Participates as a team member in ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies; coordinates work to ensure B.E.S.T practices.
• Attends team meetings and fosters strong cohesiveness on major issues such as direction, annual plans, budgets, and policy changes.
• Identifies areas lacking cohesiveness, brings them to the team leader’s attention, and works toward resolution in a supportive manner.
• Understands Simmons' operating systems (e.g., quality, security, company policies) and maintains familiarity with this position’s role in supporting them.
• Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.

Physical Requirements

• Bending and lifting up to 50 lbs from floor to crown.
• Working on feet all day.
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures (under 40°F to above 100°F).
• Working in a noisy environment.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Will use hair net, ear plugs, and any other protective equipment as needed or required.

Qualifications

• Preference for experience in the Food Processing Industry.
• Preferred Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Military experience valued; veterans are welcome to join the team.

Schedule

D2- Shift Hours: Wednesday 11:59 PM – 6:00 AM, Thursday – Saturday 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM.
