Utility KC; B1 (Nights) - Auditor

About the Role

This position requires adaptability to perform a variety of jobs on the production line, in the department, or across the facility to assist supervisors or leads as needed. Tasks include breaking down large boxes, inspecting product, sanitation duties, and raking raw meat into freezers.

Responsibilities

• Performs various jobs on the line, adapting quickly to new positions and situations in all areas to meet established production levels.
• Assists in training new employees on basic dress requirements, safety aspects, job assignments, and sanitation procedures and policies.
• Participates as a team member in ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies; coordinates work to ensure best practices.
• Attends team meetings and fosters strong cohesiveness on major issues such as direction, annual plans, budgets, and policy changes.
• Identifies areas lacking cohesiveness, brings them to the team leader’s attention, and works to resolve issues in a supportive manner.
• Reinforces actions needed to achieve synergy within the larger organization.
• Understands Simmons' operating systems (e.g., quality, security, company policies) and maintains familiarity with the role’s support of these systems.
• Communicates concerns and improvement ideas related to operating systems.
• Performs other duties as necessary to support business objectives.

Physical Requirements

• Bending and lifting up to 50 lbs from floor to crown.
• Working on feet all day.
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures (below 40°F to above 100°F).
• Working in a noisy environment.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Will use a hair net, ear plugs, and any other protective equipment as needed or required.

Qualifications

• Preference for experience in the Food Processing Industry.
• Preferred Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Military experience valued; veterans are encouraged to apply.

Schedule

B1-Shift: Sunday–Tuesday, 6:00 PM–6:00 AM; Wednesday, 6:00 PM–12:00 AM.
