About the Role

This position is responsible for assisting in the operation of multiple facilities. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job-related responsibilities and duties as assigned and/or as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and configures various low voltage systems (e.g., security systems, fire alarms, CCTV, audio/video systems, network cabling).
  • Runs, terminates, and labels cables according to project requirements and industry standards.
  • Performs regular maintenance checks to ensure system functionality and reliability.
  • Identifies and resolves issues in low voltage systems promptly to minimize downtimes.
  • Fixes faults or damages in systems, ensuring they are restored to optimal working condition.
  • Provides technical support, training, and assistance to end users on operating and maintaining low voltage systems.
  • Addresses customer inquiries and concerns professionally and efficiently.
  • Ensures all installations and repairs adhere to local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Follows safety guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintains accurate records of installations, maintenance, and repairs, and generates reports on system performance and issues resolved.
  • Evaluates existing systems to determine if upgrades or enhancements are needed.
  • Performs system upgrades to improve performance or comply with new standards.
  • Collaborates with technicians, engineers, and project managers to ensure successful project completion.
  • Communicates effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide solutions.
  • Stays updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Leads and participates in teams by sharing resources, information, and tools; coordinates work assignments and provides feedback.
  • Develops and implements processes to meet business needs by collaborating with managers, coworkers, and customers.

Physical Requirements

  • Communicates effectively in person or via telecommunications equipment.
  • Enters and locates information on electronic devices.
  • Grasps, turns, and manipulates objects requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Moves up and down ladders and stairs.
  • Lifts, carries, and places items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Observes associate, customer, or supplier behavior.
  • Reaches overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Safely operates motor vehicles and large power equipment.
  • Sits, stands, squats, kneels, or crawls for extended periods.
  • Visually inspects equipment and locates objects, including small print.
  • Creates documents using writing instruments or electronic devices.
  • Presents information to small or large groups.

Work Environment

  • Works in narrow, confined spaces such as storage areas and closets.

Travel

  • Travels domestically to multiple facilities or work-sites, requiring consecutive overnight stays.
  • Works or trains at multiple facilities or distant locations (extended travel of seven days or more is not required except for management training or emergencies).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Prior work experience requiring knowledge of local electrical codes and standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Training or certification in low voltage systems.
  • BICSI Installer Certification.
  • CompTIA certifications for networking (e.g., Network+).
  • Manufacturer-specific certifications (e.g., Honeywell, Axis, or Bosch systems).
  • OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification/training.
  • NICET Level 1 or 2 Fire Alarm Certification.
  • Experience using intermediate-level word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
