(USA) Senior Manager, Security

The Sr. Manager, Security Technology Design leads the Security Technology Design team responsible for delivering security technology designs supporting Retail and Supply Chain facilities across new construction, special projects, and strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for Walmart's Security Design organization supporting Retail and Supply Chain facilities.
- Develop and execute the annual Security Technology Design strategy, priorities, and operating plan.
- Lead and develop a high-performing organization of design leaders, project analysts, system specialists, and third-party engineering consultants.
- Build organizational capability through workforce planning, talent development, succession planning, and resource optimization.
- Establish annual design capacity plans that align staffing, workload, project demand, and business priorities.
- Oversee security technology designs supporting new construction, special projects, and strategic initiatives.
- Ensure designs for Fire Alarm, CCTV, Paging, and Intrusion Alarm systems meet enterprise standards, project schedules, and customer expectations.
- Balance competing priorities while ensuring quality, consistency, and timely delivery across a large portfolio of projects.
- Lead resolution of complex engineering issues, Requests for Information (RFIs), Construction Change Directives (CCDs), and technical design challenges.
- Support ownership of the enterprise security technology design standards, specifications, engineering manuals, and standard operating procedures.
- Establish governance processes that ensure consistent application of design standards across internal teams and external partners.
- Lead technical quality reviews, design assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate engineering performance and implement corrective actions that improve quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure engineering documentation, CAD deliverables, and asset data meet enterprise requirements.
- Develop annual workforce and budget plans supporting the enterprise design portfolio.
- Align design resources and funding with business priorities and capital programs.
- Lead strategic initiatives that improve engineering efficiency, standardization, and customer experience.
- Partner with Finance and senior leadership on forecasting, budget planning, vendor performance, and resource allocation.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency while maintaining engineering quality.
- Manage relationships with Architecture & Engineering firms, design consultants, and strategic engineering partners.
- Oversee Statements of Work (SOWs), design deliverables, quality expectations, and overall partner performance.
- Manage Project Analysts supporting design operations, reporting, project coordination, and portfolio management.
- Champion the organization's digital engineering strategy through improved design processes, standardized data, and modern engineering practices.
- Leverage automation, analytics, and AI-enabled tools to improve engineering workflows, design governance, team productivity, and communication of enterprise standards.
- Promote accurate, standardized engineering data that supports construction, operations, lifecycle management, and future digital initiatives.
- Develop meaningful performance metrics and dashboards that provide leadership with visibility into workload, quality, capacity, and operational performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Information Technology, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Three or more years leading engineering, design, security technology, or construction programs.
- Experience managing technical teams within a large, matrixed organization.
- Demonstrated experience leading enterprise initiatives across multiple business partners.
- Experience with workforce planning, resource management, and operational leadership.
Qualifications
- Experience supporting large-scale technology deployments.
- Experience managing Architecture & Engineering firms, design consultants, and third-party service providers.
- Experience developing engineering standards, governance programs, and quality assurance processes.
- Experience managing capital planning, budget alignment, and portfolio prioritization.
- Experience using Power BI, Quickbase, Tableau, or similar analytics platforms.
- Experience leveraging automation, AI, and digital engineering tools to improve organizational performance and engineering quality.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, PSP, NICET, PE, or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Risk Management, or related field and 4 years’ experience in security, emergency management, risk management, law enforcement, fire service, or related area OR 6 years’ experience in security, emergency management, risk management, law enforcement, fire service, or related area.
- Master's in Business Administration (preferred).

Pay
The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and stock for certain positions.
