Urgent Need Detection Engineering SME

About the role

We are seeking a Detection Engineering Subject Matter Expert to design, develop, tune, and optimize advanced cybersecurity detection capabilities within Google SecOps.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop single-event and multi-event detection rules within Google SecOps.
• Design detection logic based on threat intelligence, adversary behaviors, and operational requirements.
• Deploy and customize curated detection content.
• Perform detection tuning and false-positive reduction activities.
• Develop detection strategies aligned with MITRE ATT&CK techniques.
• Support threat hunting and security analytics activities.
• Create documentation for detection logic, validation procedures, and operational use.
• Collaborate with SOC analysts to improve detection effectiveness.

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience in cybersecurity detection engineering and threat hunting.
• Experience developing SIEM detection rules and analytics content.
• Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK framework and adversary tactics.
• Experience analyzing security telemetry and attack patterns.
• Experience with Google SecOps detection capabilities or comparable SIEM platforms.
• Understanding of incident response and SOC operations.
