About the role
The Unit Manager - Cibola at CoreCivic is responsible for overseeing staff and programs within an institutional, secure setting. They must have a strong commitment to providing high-quality care and a background in criminal justice, preferably with supervisory experience.
Responsibilities
- Supervise staff assigned to the unit
- Oversee unit program
- Attend and participate in administrative meetings
- Ensure the unit is fully staffed
- Monitor and assess unit progress
- Directly supervise staff
- Communicate responsibilities, authorities, and accountability
- Complete and review staff evaluations
- Routine review of payroll records and overtime usage
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, with three years of experience in a criminal justice field, including two years in a supervisory capacity
- Two years as a CoreCivic Case Manager or Correctional Counselor, or additional qualifying education may be substituted
- Experience on a “CoreCivic Way” unit management team, including time served as an acting Unit Manager
- Knowledge of correctional facility management, supervision, and training
- Understanding of relevant corrections laws, rules, and regulations
- Valid driver’s license
