About the role
The Unit Manager at CoreCivic is responsible for overseeing staff and programs within an institutional, secure setting. Key duties include supervising staff, participating in recruitment and orientation, completing evaluations, and managing manpower resources.
Responsibilities
- Supervise staff assigned to the unit
- Oversee unit program
- Attend and participate in administrative meetings
- Ensure the unit is fully staffed
- Monitor and assess unit progress, addressing deficiencies
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Three years of experience in a criminal justice field, with two years in supervisory capacity or two years as a CoreCivic Case Manager or Correctional Counselor
- Additional qualifying education may substitute for experience on a one-to-one basis
- Experience on a “CoreCivic Way” unit management team, including time served as an acting Unit Manager
- Knowledge of correctional facility management, supervision, and training
- Understanding of relevant corrections laws, rules, and regulations
- Valid driver’s license
