Position Overview
The Unit-Based Nurse Educator provides dedicated education and competency support for the 6 Central Transplant Unit. In this role, you will partner with nursing leadership, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams.
What You’ll Do
- Facilitate orientation for new transplant unit nursing staff
- Care for ongoing education and competency validation
- Support competency validation and ongoing clinical skill development
- Collaborate with leadership to support quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives
- Serve as a clinical resource for evidence-based practice
- Promote professional growth and a culture of continuous learning
- Provide flexibility for occasional nights and weekends to meet unit needs
Required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Active Registered Nurse license from the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Minimum of 3 years of cardiac specialty nursing experience
- Preferred 1 to 3 years of experience in education, training, or staff development
- Clinical Expertise: Experience with liver and kidney transplants, urology procedures, colorectal surgeries, and bariatric surgeries
