RN - Unit-Based Educator

About the role

The role involves serving as a unit educator, master clinician, and preceptor within a Medical/Cardiac ICU, providing evidence-based nursing care across diverse patient populations, including neonates to geriatrics.

Responsibilities

• Leading educational initiatives to improve patient care
• Developing patient care plans based on current research and standards
• Serving as a clinical resource and mentor to staff and students
• Providing direct, safe patient care and assisting with admissions, transfers, and discharges
• Educating staff on new equipment and procedures, and supporting patient and caregiver education
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to optimize care
• Monitoring educational strategies to ensure quality standards
• Promoting patient safety through adherence to policies, proactive reporting, and environmental awareness
• Administering medications and documenting clinical findings
• Participating in professional development activities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN/MSN)
• At least 18 months of related experience
• Current RN licensure
• Additional credentials such as BLS, ACLS, and instructor certifications are required or obtainable within stipulated timeframes
• Physical strength to perform demanding tasks and adherence to safety protocols are essential
