RN - Unit-Based Educator

About the role

This role serves as a unit educator, master teacher, and preceptor in a Medical/Cardiac ICU setting, providing educational leadership to enhance patient care through evidence-based practices and clinical protocols.

Responsibilities

• Provide educational leadership to enhance patient care through evidence-based practices and clinical protocols.
• Develop and implement clinical skills strategies using a master clinician/preceptor model.
• Serve as a clinical instructor for nursing students and assist with staffing as needed.
• Create patient care plans aligned with national standards and research.
• Act as a clinical resource and consult with the multidisciplinary team to ensure quality care.
• Educate staff on new equipment and conduct in-service training.
• Support patient and caregiver education, problem-solving, and health management.
• Collaborate with educators and leaders to plan curricula and monitor educational outcomes.
• Deliver direct patient care within nursing protocols across diverse age groups.
• Participate in professional development and adhere to patient safety policies.
• Administer medications and coordinate treatment activities.
• Write treatment plans and facilitate group therapy or education sessions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN or MSN); Master's preferred.
• At least 18 months of relevant nursing experience.
• Current RN licensure and CPR certification within 30 days.
• Unit-specific instructor certifications within 90 days.
• Physical ability to perform heavy work and work in hazardous environments with PPE.
• Strong communication, leadership, and clinical skills required for effective education and patient care.
