At Lahey, nursing is at the heart of everything we do. Your Impact As Lahey continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced and qualified Unit-Based Nurse Educator to support our Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) and Cardiothoracic Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (CT PACU).

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate orientation for new SICU and CT ICU nursing staff
  • Coordinate and maintain annual education requirements, including regulatory and competency-based training
  • Provide education on advanced therapies and technologies, including IABP and Impella devices
  • Serve as a clinical and educational resource for frontline nursing staff
  • Support competency validation and ongoing clinical skill development
  • Collaborate with leadership on quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives
  • Promote professional growth and a culture of continuous learning
  • Provide flexibility for occasional nights and weekends to meet unit needs

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Active Registered Nurse license from the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Minimum of 3 years of cardiac specialty nursing experience
  • Preferred 1 to 3 years of experience in education, training, or staff development
  • Technical Expertise: Advanced cardiac and critical care technologies, including: Balloon Pumps, Impella, IABP

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
