Underwriting Assistant - GL and Excess - Remote

Responsibilities
- Support the business strategies and activities of the underwriting departments
- Provide underwriting with pre-quote transaction support, including data entry and documentation verification
- Avoid errors in data entry and ensure proper documentation of coverage and limits
- Communicate with producers to gather necessary information for transactions
- Complete bind orders, ensuring all required information is complete and accurate
- Utilize internal systems to draft and verify policy data, and follow up for underwriter approval
- Process post-bind transactions, including subjectivity and inspection follow-up, endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements
- Contribute to the team environment by communicating and collaborating with other departments, assisting with special projects, and sharing information
- Ensure all information is complete, correct, and compliant with company standards
- Provide quality and timely service to internal and external customers
Requirements
- Strong expertise in surplus lines policy issuance and post-bind operations
- High school diploma/GED required, college degree preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to take initiative
- Solid computer skills including Word, Excel, E-mail & Internet Based Technology
- Excellent math and data analysis skills; comfortable interpreting and manipulating report data
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and move quickly from one project to another
- Ability to review and interpret complex data
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify discrepancies and resolve issues
- High level of accuracy in reviewing documents, entering data, and processing of transactions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Qualifications

Pay
The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $36,000.00 to a maximum of $67,800.00. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
