Ultrasound Tech
About the role
As an Ultrasound Tech at Portsmouth Regional Hospital, you will play a crucial role in preparing patients, collecting necessary information, performing sonographic exams, and analyzing the quality of images. You will also be responsible for notifying physicians of any unusual occurrences during the procedure and compiling appropriate records.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients and collect relevant information for the completion of procedures
- Perform sonographic exams following defined protocols
- Be observant of patients' conditions and notify the physician of any unusual occurrences
- Compile appropriate records to expedite results
- Analyze the quality of images and processes as required
- Complete data sheets containing pertinent patient information before forwarding to the radiologist
- Take call after regular hours to meet department needs
Requirements
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or Sonography Associate Degree (ARRT-S)
