About the role
Join our team as a day-shift, PRN Ultrasound Technologist in Cushing, OK. This position is accountable for operating ultrasound scanners, transporting patients, and answering questions related to reports of exams. The incumbent helps clean rooms and equipment, orders supplies, assists physicians with invasive procedures, and administers basic CPR. You will maintain a high standard of imaging, requiring thorough knowledge of ultrasound physics, anatomy, and positioning to ensure quality exams. The role involves handling multiple demands simultaneously while maintaining a helpful attitude and coordinating patient prepping and scanning to maximize smooth patient flow. You must be available for 24-hour call-back with a 1-hour response time, participate in performance improvement initiatives, and assist with other activities as needed for the day-to-day operation of the department. The incumbent must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
Responsibilities
- Operate ultrasound scanners and produce high-quality imaging
- Transport patients and answer questions related to exam reports
- Clean rooms and equipment, and order supplies
- Assist physicians with invasive procedures
- Administer basic CPR
- Coordinate patient prepping and scanning to ensure smooth patient flow
- Respond to 24-hour call-back within a 1-hour timeframe
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives
- Assist with other departmental activities as needed
Requirements
- Vocational/Technical training in Ultrasound
- Appropriate ARDMS certification or RDMS registry eligible (within one year of hire)
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
