UI5 Solutions Architect Lead

Responsibilities

  • Research new technology developments and remain abreast of industry standards and best practices in SAP MII.
  • Analyze potential impact on company systems and share the impact with IT team/business process owners of actions needed or other recommendations.
  • Lead and oversee all SAP MII and UI5 development activities across multiple sites (currently 1, expanding to 2+ simultaneously).
  • Provide strategic technical leadership and direction for front-end and back-end development efforts, ensuring alignment with business goals and scalability requirements.
  • Arcitect and design enterprise-grade SAP UI5 applications with a focus on user experience, performance, and maintainability.
  • Manage and mentor a team of Level 1 and Level 2 UI5 Solutions Architects, conducting regular 1:1 meetings to support professional growth and performance.
  • Drive best practices in software development, code quality, and deployment processes across all sites.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leadership, product managers, and stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Lead troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization efforts for complex applications.
  • Adept a culture of continuous learning and innovation by staying current with emerging SAP technologies, web development trends, and industry standards.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and technical training sessions within the team.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination between geographically distributed teams.

Requirements

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize business requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in SAP MII and UI5 full-stack development, with demonstrated leadership in multi-site environments.
  • Proven track record of leading development teams and delivering enterprise-scale SAP UI5 solutions.
  • Deep expertise in SAP MII frameworks, SAP PCo, OPC servers, and PLC integration.
  • Advanced skills in front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, XML, and related frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of database systems (SQL and NoSQL) and API design.
  • Extensive experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, with ability to lead Agile ceremonies and processes.
  • Excellent leadership, mentoring, and interpersonal skills, with experience conducting 1:1 meetings and performance reviews.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging with both technical teams and business stakeholders.

Additional Requirements

  • This position will require up to 20% travel to company manufacturing facilities.
