UI5 Solutions Architect Lead

About the role

This leadership position supports and manages the Electronic Batch Sheet System (SAP MII) and key users within FEUS. The Lead will drive new development and improvement projects to automate manual data processes, meeting evolving customer demands. Occasional travel across all sites is required. The role involves mentoring team members, providing weekly updates to the Applications Manager, and demonstrating strong interpersonal and organizational skills to manage distributed teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Research new technology developments and remain current with industry standards and best practices in SAP MII.
• Analyze potential impact on company systems and communicate recommendations to the IT team and business process owners.
• Lead and oversee all SAP MII and UI5 development activities across multiple sites (currently 1, expanding to 2+ simultaneously).
• Provide strategic technical leadership for front-end and back-end development, ensuring alignment with business goals and scalability.
• Architect and design enterprise-grade SAP UI5 applications with a focus on user experience, performance, and maintainability.
• Manage and mentor a team of Level 1 and Level 2 UI5 Solutions Architects, conducting regular 1:1 meetings to support growth and performance.
• Drive best practices in software development, code quality, and deployment processes across all sites.
• Collaborate with cross-functional leadership, product managers, and stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
• Lead troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization for complex applications.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation by staying updated on emerging SAP technologies and web development trends.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and technical training within the team.
• Ensure effective communication and coordination between geographically distributed teams.

Requirements

• Ability to multi-task and prioritize business requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 10+ years of professional experience in SAP MII and UI5 full-stack development, with demonstrated leadership in multi-site environments.
• Proven track record of leading development teams and delivering enterprise-scale SAP UI5 solutions.
• Deep expertise in SAP MII frameworks, SAP PCo, OPC servers, and PLC integration.
• Advanced skills in front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, XML, and related frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of database systems (SQL and NoSQL) and API design.
• Extensive experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, with ability to lead Agile ceremonies and processes.
• Excellent leadership, mentoring, and interpersonal skills, including experience conducting 1:1 meetings and performance reviews.
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Up to 20% travel to company manufacturing facilities.
