About the role

As a Solution Architect at CompassX, you will play a pivotal role in bridging visionary ideas with robust enterprise systems. Your responsibilities include owning the overall architecture for key initiatives, translating business strategies into actionable architectural blueprints, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and scalability.

Responsibilities

  • Own the overall architecture for key initiatives, ensuring that future-state designs are technically viable and fully integrated across existing platforms and ecosystems.
  • Translate business strategies and “north star” visions into actionable architectural blueprints, roadmaps, and sequencing of projects.
  • Evaluate and select specific enterprise tools (e.g., CRD, SAP, Aladdin or similar platforms) and define how they interact, exchange data, and enforce controls end-to-end.
  • Create conceptual and logical architectures, perform feasibility checks, and proactively identify integration risks before they become production issues.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders to align solution design, delivery timelines, and technical constraints.
  • Champion system integrity, performance, and security, ensuring that new solutions fit cleanly into legacy stacks and high-complexity environments such as financial services.
  • Document key decisions, architectural standards, and patterns so teams can build and operate solutions consistently.
  • Stay current on platform capabilities and emerging technologies, bringing informed recommendations on how to modernize, simplify, or consolidate systems over time.

Requirements

We seek candidates with a strong background in specialized architecture, ideally having grown from roles such as business systems analyst into a platform-focused architect. Deep expertise with at least one major enterprise platform (e.g., investment management, Aladdin, CRM, or core financial systems) and a practical understanding of its functional constraints and integration patterns are essential. Proven ability to design conceptual architectures for complex, multi-system environments and to perform rigorous feasibility and impact assessments is required. Experience working in high-complexity, high-regulation verticals (such as financial services) and navigating legacy technology stacks without breaking critical operations is crucial. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain trade-offs, risks, and design decisions clearly to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, are necessary. A problem-solving mindset that focuses on system integrity, maintainability, and long-term scalability rather than just "getting it to work" today is vital. A collaborative working style, comfortable influencing without authority and partnering across engineering, product, operations, and business leadership, is expected. Curiosity and adaptability, with a desire to continuously deepen your platform knowledge and architectural craft in a fast-evolving technology landscape, are highly valued.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in architecture, systems design, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of delivering successful architecture projects in complex, multi-system environments.
  • Experience with at least one major enterprise platform (e.g., investment management, Aladdin, CRM, or core financial systems).
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles and practices.
  • Experience in high-complexity, high-regulation verticals (such as financial services).
  • Ability to navigate legacy technology stacks without compromising critical operations.

Skills

Technical Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in at least one major enterprise platform (e.g., investment management, Aladdin, CRM, or core financial systems).
  • Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman).
  • Knowledge of data modeling, database design, and data governance principles.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements in financial services.
