About the role

CGI Federal is seeking an experienced UI Human Factor Developer to advance the national security mission through cutting-edge technology. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology and a strong understanding of human factors and usability.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and competitive analysis to understand user needs and behaviors.
  • Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes of user interfaces, ensuring they are intuitive and aligned with user expectations.
  • Work independently with coding in either Java or Python to implement and refine designs.
  • Evaluate the usability of designs through testing and feedback, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to implement and refine designs.
  • Apply human factors principles (e.g., cognitive load, perception, motor skills) to design systems that are safe, efficient, and comfortable for users.
  • Document design decisions, research findings, and usability test results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and/or 5 to 8 years of experience in UI design, human factors, or related field.
  • Experience with user research methods, including user interviews, surveys, and usability testing.
  • Knowledge of human capabilities, limitations, and cognitive processes.
  • Proficiency in wireframing, prototyping, Java or Python programming, and visual design.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively and present findings.
  • Ability to identify and solve usability issues and propose creative solutions.
  • Experience with design tools (e.g., PenPot, Adobe Creative Cloud).

Qualifications

  • Security Clearance: TS/SCI with CI Poly.
  • UI Design: Proficiency in wireframing, prototyping, Java or Python programming, and visual design.
  • User Research: Experience with various research methods, including user interviews, surveys, and usability testing.
  • Human Factors: Knowledge of human capabilities, limitations, and cognitive processes.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively and present findings.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to identify and solve usability issues and propose creative solutions.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with design tools (e.g., PenPot, Adobe Creative Cloud); Ability to work independently coding in either Java or Python.

Pay

$100,800.00 - $245,500.00

Schedule

Hybrid working model is acceptable.
