UAW BT Operator I

Responsibilities

• Cross-trained and able to perform regular rotations on a variety of equipment throughout the department.
• Performs basic equipment set-up, verifying that correct parts are in the machine, and that all parts are being placed within specified tolerances.
• Maintains metrics for equipment utilization and other documentation.
• Maintains a sense of urgency while being safety minded and using equipment in a safe manner.
• Ensures quality product is produced.
• Works in a team environment.
• Flexible with work schedule and assignment to meet demand and or schedule.

Qualifications/Skills

• Able to read and comprehend instructions.
• Able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations including customers and other employees.
• Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
• Able to stand, walk, talk and hear.
• Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds, and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
• Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, color vision, ability to adjust focus.

Education and Licensing

• High School diploma or equivalency.
• Operate Windows & OS2 computers.
• Acquire certification in IPC 610 or equivalent quality standard and demonstrate the ability to perform operations at those standards.
