Responsibilities

Tutors students at all levels of assigned academic discipline.

Conducts orientations to the assigned area.

Assists staff in assigned area with various tasks.

Attends mandatory tutor training seminars and other meetings when scheduled.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
  • Experience tutoring students.
  • Demonstrated academic proficiency within the discipline.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to creating an atmosphere of quality instruction.
  • English reading, writing, and speaking skills at the native level of fluency.
  • Ability to utilize technology and innovative pedagogy to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Understanding of and commitment to working with a diverse student population in a multicultural environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to exhibit a professional, courteous demeanor.

Work Environment and Special Considerations

Works in a classroom/lab setting.

Flexible hours, days and assigned campus location may vary due to enrollment.

Pay, Benefits, and Work Schedule

$14.00 hourly up to 26 hours per week.

This is a temporary part-time pool position. While a posting may exist on our website, there may or may not be a need at this time; however, submitted applications remain active for one academic year and are available for the Department to review as openings become available.
