Responsibilities

  • Account management within a defined territory and customer base
  • Maintain business relationships with customers, identifying their business needs and providing solutions
  • Primarily focus on residential, commercial, governmental, and small ag equipment sales, but also generate sales for all equipment lines as needed
  • Proactively manage customer accounts, welcoming walk-in and over-the-phone customers at the dealership on assigned days
  • Act as a strategic business partner to customers, offering advice on informed purchasing decisions
  • Conduct customer site visits to build relationships and identify business needs
  • Knowledgeable in customer operations, identifying and delivering solutions to strengthen customer loyalty
  • Engage in equipment demonstrations to attract customer interest in equipment lines
  • Generate sales opportunities through a consistent sales process, documenting significant customer contacts in the company's CRM system
  • Quickly follow-up on customer questions and pursue all opportunities to an outcome
  • Act as an internal store contact for all internal whole goods inventory questions
  • Coordinate equipment rental, handling pick-up and return, donated use of equipment, and appropriate documentation and paperwork processing
  • Update inventory on online platforms and follow up on online leads
  • Update equipment and other displays in coordination with current marketing promotions
  • Affirm that equipment on the showroom floor and yard is maintained in a clean, neat, and safe manner
  • Coordinate pre-delivery of all incoming new whole goods inventory
  • Affirm that customers receive proper instruction, warranty information, operating manuals, and anything else needed upon receipt of their equipment
  • May participate in the training of customers' employees as needed
  • Act as a communication liaison on behalf of the customer to the dealership to address questions and concerns quickly
  • Communicate with customers with a high sense of urgency, particularly when addressing customer concerns
  • Coordinate with others at the dealership to ensure all deliverables meet customer expectations
  • Work within a team culture to provide a positive whole dealership experience to the customer
  • Remain up-to-date on product knowledge, incentives, programs, problem solutions, market trends through attending training, new product intro events, clinics, and other learning opportunities
  • Maintain work area and vehicles (as assigned) in a clean, neat, and safe manner
  • Time worked is split between on-the-road and inside the dealership, requiring flexibility to meet customer needs, including overtime, limited evening/weekend hours during peak seasons
  • Represent Riesterer & Schnell and John Deere brands in a positive, professional manner at all times
  • Present a positive, professional image in dress and conduct at all times

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, Agri-Business, or related field required
  • Three plus years of sales experience in a related industry required
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and insurable driving history
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with people from all levels of the organization
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills required
  • Ability to use a computer and current software programs required

Benefits

Starting wage range is $50,000 base salary plus commission. Hours for this job are Monday through Friday from 7:30 am until 5 pm and a Saturday rotation from 7:30 am until noon.

Schedule

Time worked is split between on-the-road and inside the dealership, requiring flexibility to meet customer needs, including overtime, limited evening/weekend hours during peak seasons.

Pay

Starting wage range is $50,000 base salary plus commission.
