- Trust & Estates Associate needed for well-known firm with over 100 years in business.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all aspects of clients' trust and estate planning, including drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and health care directives.
- Provide comprehensive legal counsel on matters related to trust administration, probate, estate tax, and other related issues.
- Collaborate with clients to develop strategies that meet their estate planning goals while minimizing legal risks.
- Conduct thorough legal research and stay updated on the latest developments in trust and estate law.
- Represent clients in probate court proceedings and handle trust and estate litigation matters.
- Liaise with other attorneys, tax professionals, and financial advisors to ensure all aspects of the client's estate plan are well-coordinated.
- Participate in business development activities to expand the firm's trusts and estates practice.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice law in Connecticut and/or New York.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a trust and estates associate attorney.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong client relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex legal concepts to clients.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases with varying degrees of complexity.
- Demonstrated commitment to ethical standards and high level of integrity.
