About the role
The Truss Crane Operator position at PARR is essential for fulfilling customer needs by ensuring timely and safe delivery of building materials. This role involves driving trusses to jobsites and using a crane to safely deliver materials.
Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load and unload building materials from commercial motor vehicles
- Legally, safely, and efficiently travel to destinations through public and private roads
- Learn and use route planning and optimization
- Maintain yard, warehouse, and vehicle cleanliness during work
- Proactively manage job site conditions for next deliveries and communicate with others
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of all equipment
- Conduct required safety audits of vehicle (daily safety audits, weekly brake inspections, crane inspections)
- Promptly report any malfunctioning equipment as required by Federal and state regulations and company policy
- Write legibly on all materials
- Update driver's qualification file annually as required by Federal and state regulations and company policy
- Provide required paperwork and scanning for dispatch
- Ensure all material transported on the truck has a delivery packet which includes truss layout and engineering
- Communicate with customers before next delivery
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with customers, contractors, and vendors
- Aid other team members with work when appropriate
Qualifications
- Must be 21 years old or older
- Class A CDL required
- Air-brake endorsement required
- Current NCCCO certification
- Current DOT Medical Card
- Acceptable driving record
- Ability to speak, write, and read English required
- Knowledge of vehicle safety audits and reports of any malfunctioning equipment as required by Federal and state regulations and company policy
- Ability to manage time and routes for a streamlined delivery experience
- Familiarity with GPS devices or map applications
- Driving experience within 50-mile radius of primary location preferred
