About the role
The Truss Crane Operator position at PARR is essential for fulfilling customer needs by ensuring timely and safe delivery of building materials. This role involves driving trusses to jobsites and using a crane to safely deliver materials.
Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load and unload building materials from commercial motor vehicles
- Legally, safely, and efficiently travel to destinations through public and private roads
- Learns and uses route planning and optimization
- Maintains yard, warehouse, and vehicle cleanliness during the course of work
- Checks load for accuracy
- Proactively manages job site conditions for next deliveries and communicates with others
- Performs daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of all equipment
- Performs required safety audits of vehicle (daily safety audits, weekly brake inspections, crane inspections) and promptly reports any malfunctioning equipment as required by Federal and state regulations and company policy
- Promptly reports all accidents/incidents
- Writes legibly on all materials
- Annually updates driver's qualification file as required by Federal and state regulations and company policy
- Provides required paperwork and scanning for dispatch
- Ensures that all material transported on the truck has a delivery packet which includes the truss layout and truss engineering and delivery ticket
- Provides feedback related to customers, jobsites, issues, etc.
- Contacts customers before next delivery
- Establishes good relationships with sales team and seeks to be their "eyes and ears" in the field
- Affords assistance to other team members when appropriate
Qualifications
- Must be 21 years old or older
- Class A CDL required
- Air-brake endorsement required
- Current NCCCO certification
- Current DOT Medical Card
- Acceptable driving record
- Ability to speak, write, and read English required
- Knowledge of vehicle safety audits and reports of any malfunctioning equipment as required by Federal and state regulations and company policy
- Ability to manage time and routes for a streamlined delivery experience
- Familiarity with GPS devices or map applications
- Driving experience within 50-mile radius of primary location preferred

Pay and Schedule
- Pay range: $32.74 - $36.99
- Work at a truss manufacturing facility and make deliveries at jobsites in all weather conditions
