Crane Operator

About the role

Reworld is seeking a Mi-Jack crane operator and heavy equipment operator for its Derwood, MD Transfer Station in Montgomery County, MD. The successful candidate will operate Reworld's heavy equipment including Mi-Jack crane, front loader, bulldozer, and excavator.

Responsibilities

• Mi-Jack crane operator - Operate Mi-Jack crane to move loaded and empty containers from truck chassis to railcars. Assist in consolidating dumped refuse on the tipping floor, load outbound trucks using trash grapple, handle material with forklift, and sweep yard with skid steer.
• Aid mechanic on equipment repairs requiring additional help.
• Filling in for other positions as needed, including/but not limited to, equipment operator, compactor operator, and shuttle driver.

Qualifications

• GED/HS Diploma preferred, Reworld offers GED Works – a fully funded program for employees to achieve their GED.
• Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience operating heavy equipment including Mi-Jack Crane, Front end Loaders, Excavators, preferred.
• Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb.
• Ability to lift/carry 50lbs.
• Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces.
• Qualify to wear a full-face respirator.
