Truck Driver - OTR Class A - Penske Logistics

About the role

Join a team of professional truck drivers delivering garage doors and components to customers, along with backhaul freight across multiple states. Routes are designed to return drivers to their home domicile and include multiple live load/unload locations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver garage doors and components to customers
• Pick up and deliver backhaul freight across multiple states
• Complete live load and live unload deliveries
• Manage 5-6 stops per week while maintaining route efficiency
• Represent Penske and client brands while driving branded trucks and wearing client uniforms

Schedule

• Work approximately 8 to 10 days per cycle
• Dispatch hours: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM (may occur Sunday, Monday, or midweek)
• Approximately 65 hours per week

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL required
• Must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in state of residence
• Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card
• 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years, or 2 years in the last 5 years
• 3-year DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is essential
• English language proficiency (required by federal law for compliance with 49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2))
• Ability to work the required schedule and location
• Must complete Penske employment application, pass background investigation (including past employment, education, and criminal history), and drug screening

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to see and hear; specific vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• Frequent movement, standing, walking, and sitting required
• Frequent use of hands to touch, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs/23 kg; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs/45 kg
• Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle and safely and frequently enter/exit the vehicle and rear cargo area
• Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
