Truck Driver - Class A Floater - Penske Logistics

Average annual pay: $83,000 plus a $5,000 retention bonus. Driver referral bonus program up to $5,000 per referral.

About the role

You will drive late-model Penske Truck Leasing trucks with best-in-class specs designed for comfort, equipped with inward and outward-facing in-cab cameras to ensure safety. Cover various routes and assignments as needed, including route, shuttle, and yard coverage with no-touch deliveries.

Schedule

Monday through Friday with AM or PM start times; flexibility required. Home daily.

Responsibilities

• Cover various routes and assignments as needed
• Perform route, shuttle, and yard coverage
• Complete no-touch deliveries
• Represent Penske and client brands while driving branded trucks and wearing client uniforms
• Follow all federal, state, and agency laws, regulations, standards, and guidelines
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance
• Operate vehicles safely and maintain a constant state of alertness
• Accept responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL required
• Must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in state of residence
• Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card
• 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years, or 2 years in the last 5 years
• 3-year DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
• English language proficiency (required by federal law for compliance with 49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2))
• Ability to pass a background investigation (including past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to see and hear; specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• Frequent movement, standing, walking, and sitting required
• Frequent use of hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs/23 kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs/45 kg
• Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle and safely and frequently enter/exit the vehicle and rear cargo area

Pay is issued every Friday. Most driving positions offer home daily. Training opportunities and nationwide locations available.
