Truck Driver - CDL Class A Shuttle - Penske Logistics

About the role

Shuttle trailers of parts and supplies on a dedicated local route. You’ll drive late‑model, Penske‑maintained trucks equipped with inward and outward facing in‑cab cameras, representing Penske and its clients with a focus on safety, customer service, and on‑time delivery. Home daily, with a stable nationwide company known for best‑in‑class equipment, strong safety record, and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Shuttle trailers of parts and supplies between designated locations
• Operate tractor‑trailer safely and in compliance with DOT regulations
• Complete pre‑ and post‑trip inspections
• Maintain accurate logs and documentation
• Provide professional customer service at each stop

Schedule

• Start time: 12:00 PM
• Five‑day schedule, Monday through Friday
• Average 45–50 hours per week
• Home daily

Pay

$28.00 per hour, with overtime after 40 hours per week. Paid weekly (every Friday).

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL
• Domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in state of residence
• Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non‑excepted interstate DOT medical card
• 1 year documented tractor‑trailer experience in the last 3 years, or 2 years documented tractor‑trailer experience in the last 5 years
• 3‑year DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
• English language proficiency (per 49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2))
• Ability to work the required schedule and at the specific location
• Completion of Penske employment application, background investigation (past employment, education, criminal history), and drug screening
• Position is DOT‑regulated / safety‑sensitive; must maintain constant alertness and safe work practices
• Accept responsibility for own safety and the safety of others

Physical Requirements

• Vision: close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• Hearing sufficient for safe operation
• Frequent moving, standing, walking, and sitting
• Frequent use of hands to touch, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms
• Lift and/or move up to 50 lb (23 kg) regularly; occasionally up to 100 lb (45 kg)
• Legally operate a motor vehicle and safely enter/exit the vehicle and rear cargo area frequently
