Pay
- Average weekly pay: $2000 (top earners can make up to $2500 per week)
- Solo miles pay: $0.62 per mile with 2500 miles per week
- Solo stops pay: $27.00 per stop with 12 stops per week
- Safety bonus: $300 - $500 four times a year (every quarter)
- Per diem pay: $60.00 per night with 1 - 3 nights per week
Schedule
- Sunday - Thursday
- Start time: 9:00 PM - 5:00 AM
- Regional route with 1-3 nights out per week (home every other night)
About the Role
- Deliver solo to: OH, TN, KY, WV, IN, IL, AL & GA
- Tractor type: Sleepers with APUs / Day Cabs
- Trailer type: Reefer 48', 53’
- Equipment: Pallet jack (Ryder provides training on all equipment)
- Freight: Assist palletized–refrigerated goods

Requirements
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Pass a Ryder drug test, background check, and motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)
- Pass a DOT physical and Ryder road test
- Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
- Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
- 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
- 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
- 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures
- Some positions may require additional screening, such as employment/education verification, motor vehicle records check, and customer-specific badging or background requirements
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines
- Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
- Maintain accurate records and logs
- Load/unload freight or assist in loading/unloading if required by customer
- Perform other duties as assigned
