Truck Driver CDL Class A No Experience Needed
About the role
We have a Class A Driver opening in Lafayette, IN, for New CDL Graduates who have received their CDL License. New graduates can start their career with Ryder's Driver Development Program. Those with 6-9 months of experience can inquire about our Extended Driver Development Program.
Ryder offers proficiency-based training with experienced facilitators, including 8 weeks of paid training focusing on all backing, close-quarter maneuvers, short and longer runs. Gain hands-on experience from industry-leading instructors.

Pay
- Weekly Minimum Guarantee during training: $1,050 per week
- Weekly Minimum Guarantee after training: $1,385 or more per week
- Solo Miles Pay: $0.53 per mile
- Solo Stops Pay: $10.00 per stop
- Drop and Hook Pay: $6.00 per drop/hook
Schedule
- Monday – Friday; some weekends required
- Start Time: AM or PM

- Tractor Type: Day Cab
- Trailer Type: 53' Dry Van
- Trucks are 36 months or newer, include 24/7 roadside maintenance
- Company drivers fuel up at over 800 maintenance facilities nationwide
- Freight Type: Auto Parts
- Touch/No Touch Freight: Varies (No Touch, Drop/Hook, Live Load/Live Unload, multi-stop delivers, and relays)
- Deliver To: 300-mile radius
Requirements
- 9 months or less of CDL driving experience
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Pass a Ryder drug test
- Pass a Ryder background check and Motor Vehicle Registration check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures

Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines
- Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
- Maintain accurate records and logs
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) regarding the checking in and out of freight
- Perform other duties as assigned
