Truck Driver CDL Class A No Experience Needed
About the role
We have a Class A Driver opening in Lafayette, IN, for New CDL Graduates who have received their CDL License. Start your career with Ryder's Driver Development Program, designed for those with 6-9 months of experience or less. Our proficiency-based training includes 8 weeks of paid instruction focusing on backing, close-quarter maneuvers, short and longer runs, and hands-on experience with industry-leading instructors.
Tractor Type: Day Cab
Trailer Type: 53' Dry Van
Freight Type: Auto Parts
Touch/No Touch Freight: Varies (No Touch, Drop/Hook, Live Load/Live Unload, Multi-stop delivers, and relays)
Deliver To: 300-mile radius
Trucks are 36 months or newer, include 24/7 roadside maintenance, and company drivers fuel up at over 800 maintenance facilities nationwide.
Pay
- Weekly Minimum Guarantee during training: $1,050 per week
- Weekly Minimum Guarantee after training: $1,385 per week (with opportunity for more)
- Paid weekly
Schedule
- Monday – Friday; some weekends required
- Start Time: AM or PM

Requirements
- 9 months or less of CDL driving experience
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Pass a Ryder drug test
- Pass a Ryder background check and Motor Vehicle Registration check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures
Note: Some positions require additional screening, such as employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check, and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines
- Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
- Maintain accurate records and logs
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) regarding the checking in and out of freight
- Perform other duties as assigned
