Triage Licensed Practical Nurse

About the role

This position focuses on triage for pediatric patients, assessing and prioritizing needs through both phone and in-person interactions within an academic health center.

Responsibilities

• Assess and prioritize pediatric patient needs through phone and in-person triage.
• Gather patient histories and vital signs.
• Coordinate care with physicians and RNs to ensure timely treatment.
• Educate families on care plans and when to seek urgent or emergency care.
• Document all encounters accurately in the EHR.
• Collaborate across disciplines within an academic health center.
• Follow strict safety and infection control standards.
• Engage in continuous learning and professional development.

Qualifications & Skills

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification.
• Experience in pediatric triage or related healthcare setting preferred.
• Strong communication and patient education skills.
• Ability to assess and prioritize care efficiently.
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR).
• Commitment to safety, infection control, and teamwork.
