About the role
The Treasurers Office team serves many roles. As the Treasurer for Kootenai County, they administer the County banking services, ensure all monies received are deposited and accounted for timely, and invest funds to safely maximize earnings while guaranteeing there are adequate funds for financial obligations. As Tax Collector, the team assists citizens with property tax questions and concerns, cashiering, warrant redemption, bank account reconciliation, and processing electronic payments. They also handle the billing and collection of Kootenai County's $220 million in property taxes and Solid Waste fees.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service in person and over the phone.
- Respond to billing inquiries and take appropriate action to resolve complex questions or concerns.
- Combine, review, and post revenue deposit batches daily.
- Manage and coordinate high volume of face-to-face and telephonic interactions and the exchange of information with taxpayers and other County departments.

Requirements
- A High School diploma or GED.
- A minimum of three (3) years experience in customer service and/or cash handling.
