Traveling Superintendent - Restaurant / Retail

Our client is a national general contractor with a successful local Florida branch. They build a variety of projects including restaurants, grocery stores, retail, and storage facilities.

About the role

As a Traveling Superintendent, you will take ground-up and interiors projects from start to finish, working in conjunction with the Project Manager to ensure timely delivery. This role covers projects along the East Coast from Florida to Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day on-site supervision of field labor force
• Maintain good relationships with internal and external clients
• Develop and maintain site logistics plan
• Conduct quality inspections
• Coordinate site testing and inspection efforts
• Monitor costs, including labor time and material
• Manage schedules, including preparation of detailed short-term schedules and ensuring all activities take place on or ahead of scheduled dates
• Prepare and submit Superintendent's Daily Reports
• Attend and participate in project meetings, including subcontractor meetings
• Travel in the state of Florida and along the East Coast as needed

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial construction experience as a Superintendent
• Strong tenure with clients
• Ability to travel the East Coast (Florida up to Pennsylvania)
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification
• Experience leading ground-up and interior renovations
• Experience with projects in restaurants, retail, and grocery stores
• Strong ability to read drawings and specifications
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Exhibits strong leadership qualities
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Preferred experience with Procore
