Traveling Commercial Construction Superintendent - Southeast U.S.

About the role

The Superintendent is the company representative who oversees all field operations, coordinating subcontractors' work and supervising both self-performed and subcontracted tasks.

Responsibilities

• Read drawings, specifications, and subcontract documents to plan, prioritize, and schedule construction activities.
• Manage and mentor Assistant Superintendents and other field personnel.
• Travel in the Southeast United States as needed.
• Attend job site safety meetings and document topics discussed.
• Identify and resolve problems, reporting unresolved issues to the Project Manager.
• Maintain job site records of contract drawings.
• Take job site photos and complete daily reports.
• Coordinate with inspectors and obtain necessary permits.
• Communicate effectively with owners, subcontractors, and the team.
• Review and complete final punch lists in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Building Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• At least 5 years of direct field experience in trades, substituting for a college degree.
• Exhibits a commitment to quality by evaluating project-related processes and making necessary changes.
• Completes 30 hours of OSHA training every four years, along with first aid and CPR training.
• Demonstrates proficiency using a personal computer and company communication tools.
• Manages multiple activities/projects, meets deadlines, and networks with staff, management, and clients.
• Has excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Is detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Building Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Experience: At least 5 years of direct field experience in trades, substituting for a college degree.
