Schedule

• Shift: 12 hours, days
• Hours per week: 36
• Shift times: 0700 to 1930 and 1900 to 0730
• Rotation: every other weekend and holiday rotation

Job Summary

This position involves providing specialized nursing care to patients in a telemetry unit within an acute care setting. The role requires ongoing assessment and management of patients with cardiac and other medical conditions, including interpretation of EKGs and titration of medications.

Responsibilities

• Patient assessment
• EKG interpretation
• Medication titration (e.g., Cardizem and Heparin)
• Troubleshooting telemonitoring equipment
• Responding to cardiac and medical emergencies
• Reading and interpreting telemetry strips on Phillips monitors
• Performing duties related to respiratory support devices such as Cpap and Bipap when necessary
• Floating to other general medical units as required

Requirements

• BLS (American Heart Association)
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a registered nurse
• Active Illinois license or confirmed application process
• Familiarity with telemetry equipment
