Travel Telemetry Registered Nurse - $2,285 per week
About the Role
Telemetry (TELE) nursing job located in the unit specializing in cardiac and thoracic patient care. The role involves providing high-quality patient care within a busy acute division, managing various cardiac conditions, interpreting telemetry strips, and titrating medications such as Cardizem and heparin. This position offers a full-time daytime schedule on 12-hour shifts in an adult-only unit.
Responsibilities
- Management of cardiac patients including MI, CHF, A fib, COPD, pacemaker/AICD placement, lung surgeries, and postoperative care
- Titration of drips such as Cardizem and heparin
- Interpretation of telemetry strips
- Troubleshooting respiratory equipment (e.g., Cpap, Bipap, high flow oxygen, ventilators, and other RT equipment)
- Participating in holiday rotations and every-other weekend schedule
- Floating to general medical units as needed
Requirements
- Valid Illinois nursing license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
- Active BLS (AHA) certification
- Minimum of 2 years of RN clinical experience
- Experience with EKG interpretation and medication titration, including titrating drips such as Cardizem and heparin
- Proficiency in all basic nursing skills
Preferred Qualifications
- ACLS certification recommended
- Experience with telemetry monitoring systems, preferably Phillips monitors
- Ability to interpret telemetry strips and troubleshoot equipment
Schedule
- 12-hour day shifts (0700-1930)
- Minimum of 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend
- Holiday rotation including Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day
- No current call or standby requirements
Additional Information
- Must adhere to dress code policies; scrubs provided and acceptable in any color excluding children or cartoon prints
- Orientation typically involves one shift, based on prior experience with OSF facilities
