About the role

Telemetry Nurse (RN) Nights. This position involves providing specialized care for patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring and treatment in an acute care setting. The role requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside nursing care for patients on telemetry units
• Interpret electrocardiograms (EKGs)
• Perform medication titration (e.g., Cardizem, heparin)
• Manage patients with diagnoses including MI, CHF, atrial fibrillation, COPD, pacemaker/AICD placements, and post-lung surgery
• Troubleshoot ventilator and breathing support equipment (CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow)
• Float to other general medical units as required

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that application has been initiated
• BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in telemetry nursing
• Recent experience with EKG interpretation and medication titration
• All basic nursing skills
• Understanding of OSF Drug-Free Campus policy and ability to produce a negative drug screen
• Submission of last four digits of SSN, active Illinois license status or application confirmation, understanding of OSF policies, and confirmation of required certifications

Schedule

• Night shifts, 12 hours per shift
• Minimum 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required

Pay

Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
