About the role

The organization is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Step Down nursing in a healthcare facility. The RN will provide advanced patient care to a diverse adult population, focusing on critical and complex conditions such as cardiac, vascular, renal failure, and post-procedure recovery. The position involves night shifts, requiring candidates to be adaptable and proficient in acute care settings.

Responsibilities

  • Manage adult patients with diagnoses such as sepsis, stroke, post stent, and post pacemaker placement.
  • Be competent in arterial lines.
  • Titrate drips including Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin.
  • Interpret telemetry strips.
  • Utilize equipment such as vents, Cpap, BiPap, and high-flow oxygen.
  • Participate in a one-day orientation.
  • Adapt to floating between units, including ICU or MedSurg, as needed.
  • Use overhead lifts, vein finders, bladder scanners, and portable lifts available on the unit.

Requirements

  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
  • Valid RN license required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care or step‑down setting.
  • Possess a driver’s license.
  • Demonstrate competency in arterial lines and titratable drips.
  • Exhibit flexibility, teamwork, and good communication skills, particularly in a multicultural environment.
  • Ability to adapt to floating between units (ICU/MedSurg) as needed.

Schedule

Night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM, totaling 48 hours per week.
