Travel Step Down Unit RN - $2,400 per week
Job Summary
The position involves providing care to a diverse patient population with medical diagnoses, primarily in a step-down / intermediate care setting. The role requires handling both floor and step-down patients, with a focus on patient safety and appropriate clinical interventions.
Job Details
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, beginning on 08/03/2026.
Required Qualifications
- Valid BLS (AHA) certification;
- minimum of 1 year of experience;
- Epic electronic health record experience;
- West Virginia nursing license or willingness to wait for licensure;
- ability to handle 6 med-surg or 3 step-down patients.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with titrating drips such as Heparin, Insulin, anti-hypertensives, antiarrythmics, TPN, PCA medications;
- Familiarity with Phillips telemetry monitors;
- Experience in acute care or step-down units.
Additional Information
- Unit features 29 beds under construction, equipped with CPAP, BiPAP, HiFlow, vents, and remote telemetry monitoring.
- The unit operates with a typical Nurse:Patient ratio of 3:1 in step-down and 6:1 on the floor.
- RN staff may be required to float to other units as needed.
- There are charge RNs and Clinical Associates on duty, with a dress code of royal blue and white.
- Orientation will be provided.
