Travel Step Down Unit RN - $2,150 per week

A Step Down Unit Registered Nurse (RN) is needed at a healthcare organization in Henderson, Kentucky. This position is for night shifts, with a focus on caring for stepdown and progressive care unit patients. The role offers a 13-week contract with set hours, requiring adaptable, experienced nursing professionals capable of managing complex patient cases and functioning effectively within a team.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Valid current compact license
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum of 2 years as an RN, including at least one year of stepdown or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience
- Recent EPIC charting experience (training provided)

- PIV insertion
- Stable home ventilators
- Chest tube management
- Continuous BiPap
- Blood product administration
- Drain management
- Neutropenic precautions
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills

Additional Information
- Float: Float within skillset; potential to float to nearby campuses with notice
- Orientation is scheduled to begin on 07/27/2026, with GSA hours not guaranteed during orientation week
