Responsibilities
- Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and consultative services for patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
- Review patient information before evaluations and document comprehensive assessments; track patient outcomes over time.
- Instruct and direct support staff; supervise assistants in accordance with state and federal practice acts.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement patient care plans; participate in discharge planning as needed.
- Perform MBSS (modified barium swallowing) and VFSS (videofluoroscopic swallowing study) independently when indicated.
- Maintain accurate documentation of progress and outcomes; contribute to data collection for patient outcomes and program evaluation.
- Work in acute inpatient and inpatient acute rehabilitation settings; ICU/neuro experience preferred.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or foreign equivalent.
- Speech Pathologist licensure in the state of practice (required).
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) required; ASHA CCC preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification required.
- At least two years' recent experience in the field; three years hospital/acute rehab setting preferred.
- Current nursing license per the state of assignment.
- Proficiency with EPIC and Cerner EMR systems; ability to work in a fast-paced acute care environment.
- Availability to work weekends (as needed).

This assignment requires strong clinical skills in the acute inpatient hospital setting and inpatient acute rehabilitation, with neuro/ICU experience.
