Responsibilities
Assess and treat communication disorders, including speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and dysphagia, in patients under acute care and long-term care conditions
Conduct bedside evaluations, screen for swallowing safety, and develop individualized treatment plans
Implement therapy, monitor progress, document outcomes, and adjust goals as needed
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (nursing, rehabilitation, physicians) to coordinate care and discharge planning
Educate patients and families on communication strategies, compensatory techniques, and dysphagia management; provide training as appropriate
Maintain timely, accurate documentation in patient records and ensure compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards
Requirements
- Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in New Hampshire or eligibility for licensure
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Experience in acute care or skilled nursing/long-term care settings is preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment and complete documentation efficiently
- Strong collaboration and communication skills; ability to work effectively with an interdisciplinary team
- Willingness to participate in a travel assignment and adhere to assignment schedule
