Travel Respiratory Therapist General Job
Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care per physician orders, including airway management, ventilator support, and pulmonary hygiene as part of the hospital’s respiratory care team
- Perform and score sleep studies for inpatients and set up and download home sleep apnea tests for outpatients (polysomnographic testing and data interpretation)
- Monitor patient responses to respiratory therapies, document findings, and adjust treatments as prescribed
- Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and safety of sleep study and respiratory equipment; document procedures and outcomes accurately
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the sleep medicine/respiratory teams to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes
Requirements
- RPSGT certification required
- Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- BLS through the American Heart Association with card in-hand before start date
- Previous sleep lab experience
- Professional affiliations and additional skill registrations preferred
- 75 miles radius requirement: traveler’s permanent address must be at least 75 miles away from the facility
- Ability to work in a hospital setting, including 3x12 night shifts with weekend rotation
