Travel temporary assignment for a Registered Respiratory Therapist in Norfolk, Virginia, starting 08/03/2026 for a 13-week contract.

Pay

Weekly pay: $1,616 – $1,648

Schedule

  • Guaranteed hours: 35 hours per week
  • Shift: Night, 3×12-hour shifts (approximately 18:30 to 07:00)

About the role

This assignment occurs in a skilled nursing facility.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and monitor respiratory therapy interventions per physician orders and patient needs
  • Administer inhalation therapies, pulse oximetry, aerosolized medications, and airway clearance techniques
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and calibrate respiratory care equipment (including ventilator support when indicated) and document results
  • Assess patient response to therapy; adjust treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
  • Maintain accurate charting and documentation in the patient record; report significant changes promptly
  • Provide education to patients and family members on respiratory care, airway clearance techniques, and equipment use

Requirements

  • Active license as a Respiratory Therapist in Virginia (RRT or CRT eligible per state regulations)
  • Graduation from an accredited respiratory care program (associate degree or higher)
  • Certification: BLS (basic life support) required; additional advanced certifications as applicable
  • Prior respiratory therapy experience; SNF or long-term care setting experience preferred
  • Ability to work night shift in a skilled nursing environment and to perform duties that may include 12-hour shifts
