Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive respiratory care to adult and pediatric patients per physician orders and unit protocols
- Administer bronchodilator therapies, humidification, humidified nebulization, airway clearance techniques, and NIV therapy
- Manage mechanical ventilation and noninvasive ventilation, monitor patient status, adjust therapy per protocol, and document outcomes
- Operate and troubleshoot ventilators and related equipment (e.g., Hamilton C3/T1, V60 NIV, Airvo 2, HFNC, Bubble CPAP) and participate in weaning when indicated
- Collaborate with Pulmonary Critical Care physicians and hospitalist teams on ventilator management and patient progression; participate in external transports as needed
- Document care in the EPIC system, communicate changes in patient condition to the care team, and participate in unit on-call and patient safety activities
Requirements
- Active RRT credential with Vermont license on file at submission
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
- Neonatal and pediatric NICU/PICU experience
- Minimum 2 years of clinical respiratory care experience
- EPIC EMR experience within the past 2 years
- Ability to work in ICU/ED settings and in a Level 2 trauma environment; prepared to start within the next week
