About the role

This assignment covers adult and pediatric inpatients across general units as well as ICU, NICU, and PICU, with a focus on delivering high-quality respiratory care in a fast-paced hospital inpatient setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide inpatient respiratory care for adult and pediatric patients across general units, Adult ICU, NICU, and PICU
  • Manage ventilator support, perform weaning assessments, and adjust therapies per physician orders; monitor patient response
  • Administer airway clearance techniques, chest therapies, and aerosolized medications; perform ABG sampling as needed; uphold infection control standards
  • Document assessments, treatments, and outcomes in Epic; collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the care team
  • Participate in care coordination, safety protocols, and escalation of respiratory needs as patient status evolves

Requirements

  • Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential; NBRC verification required; CRT not accepted
  • AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications; NRP certification also required
  • Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience; prior travel experience preferred; teaching hospital experience required
  • Epic experience within the past 2 years is required
  • Weekend availability as needed; 12-hour night shift; schedule flexibility is required
  • Ability to work in a hospital inpatient setting; reliable transportation may be needed where public transit is limited

Pay

Weekly pay: $2,334–$2,410.

Schedule

  • 16-week contract duration
  • 3x12 Nights (12-hour night shifts)
  • Weekend coverage may be required based on unit needs
  • Bi-weekly orientations on Mondays
