Travel Rehabilitation Therapist - $2,500 per week

About the Role

LanceSoft is seeking a travel Rehabilitation Therapist for a 13-week assignment in Lafayette, Indiana. The role involves working with an inpatient acute care rehab team of 19 professionals, treating patients across all levels of acuity, from ICU to progressive care units. Diagnoses include CABG, stroke, TBI, joint replacements, respiratory illnesses, dementia, MS, Parkinson's, and more. The therapist will evaluate, develop, and follow plans of care, including ADL training, therapeutic exercises, and discharge disposition recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and develop plans of care for patients with diverse diagnoses.
  • Provide ADL training, therapeutic exercises, and therapeutic activities to improve patient function.
  • Assess appropriateness of discharge disposition recommendations daily.
  • Supervise and guide COTAs with plans of care.
  • Manage daily caseload, attend multidisciplinary rounds, and complete documentation.
  • Work with high-acuity ICU and PCU patients.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of OT experience in an acute hospital setting.
  • BLS certification and IN state license.
  • NBCOT certification.
  • Cerner experience preferred.
  • Ability to work Monday - Friday + one weekend day per month.
  • Experience with high-acuity ICU/PCU patients preferred.

Qualifications

  • Previous charge experience preferred.
  • Skills in above-knee prosthetics, acute care, amputee, arthritis, assessment, below-knee prosthetics, coma management, CVA rehabilitation, dementia/Alzheimer's, discharge, edema massage, evaluation, functional splints, hand injury, hip fracture, kinesiotaping, lymphedema management, multiple sclerosis, nerve injury, Parkinson's disease, patient/family education, plan of care, reassessments, safety and injury prevention, serial/inhibitory, soft tissue injuries, spinal cord injury, standardized assessment, static splints, tendon repair, traumatic brain injury, upper extremity, and upper extremity prosthetics.

Schedule

  • 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts, days.
  • Monday - Friday + one weekend day per month.

Compliance

  • Travelers' university must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE.
  • SSN and DOB required at time of submittal.
  • Auto-approve 5 days of non-holiday RTO; more requires facility approval.
  • Candidate must work 2 out of 3 major holidays.
  • 18 months of experience required, with exceptions depending on the unit.
  • License must be in hand prior to start date.
  • 2 supervisor references required.
  • IN residents are considered local.
  • Floating is 100% required within the hospital or nearby affiliate hospitals.
  • Consecutive contract policy: 12-month break required after 12 months of travel employment within IU Health.
