Overview
Registered Nurse – Telemetry (Tele) travel assignment in Olathe, Kansas. Start date 08/30/2026 for a 13-week contract in a Short Term Acute Care Hospital setting. Weekly pay ranges from $1,988 to $2,086. Shift is 3 consecutive 12-hour nights (1900–0730). This placement involves a Telemetry/Cardiac unit with floating to other acute care units as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for telemetry patients on a cardiac-focused unit, including routine assessments and monitoring of vital signs and rhythms
- Continuously monitor telemetry data, identify rhythm changes or instability, and respond per unit protocols; escalate as required
- Administer and adjust cardiac medications and interventions per orders, including experience with TR Band arterial hemostasis, and education on initiating or adjusting cardiac drips (e.g., Heparin, Lasix, Cardizem, Bumetanide/Butamax) and initiating Tikosyn/Sotalol when indicated
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and modify patient care plans; maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR (EPIC)
- Float to other acute care units as needed per unit policy; participate in unit coverage, including weekend rotations (every other weekend as required) and holidays based on unit needs
- Perform post-procedure care where applicable, including management of arterial access sites and post-procedural monitoring; ensure adherence to infection control and safety standards
Requirements
- Current registered nurse license in Kansas (KS RN) and BLS certification
- Experience: minimum 1 year of recent telemetry/telemetry-capable cardiac care; 2–5 years preferred
- Cardiac care familiarity: experience with post-procedure TR Band usage, cardiac drips (Heparin, Lasix, Cardizem, Bumetanide/Butamax), and initiation of Tikosyn/Sotalol
- Ability to work in a telemetry/acute care environment with floating to other units as needed; EPIC or similar EMR experience preferred
- Credentialing readiness: able to complete CBC, DS, and lab work within 72 hours of offer acceptance; able to meet orientation timelines
- Education: RN degree with active licensure; capacity to operate in a NICHE telemetry/Cardiac unit and comply with unit policies
- Availability to start on or near the scheduled start date and complete required assessments and onboarding activities
